Luke Jackson News: Dropped from 40-man roster
The Tigers designated Jackson for assignment Friday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Jackson inked a contract with Detroit on July 26 and surrendered four runs in 4.2 innings before Friday's DFA. The 33-year-old previously pitched for Texas this season and briefly served as the Rangers' closer, posting a 4.11 ERA over 35 total innings. Assuming he clears waivers, Jackson will likely stay within the Tigers organization.
