Michael King Injury: Back on IL
The Padres placed King on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to left knee inflammation.
King had been in line to start Friday against the Dodgers, but he'll instead head back to the IL after he had previously been shelved from May 25 through Aug. 8 due to a pinched nerve in his throwing shoulder. In his return to the rotation this past Saturday against the Red Sox, King tossed 57 pitches over just two frames before being lifted from the contest. In a corresponding move, the Padres recalled Randy Vasquez from Triple-A El Paso, and he could be called upon to start Friday in King's stead.
