The Royals optioned Loftin to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

Loftin is being sent down in order to free up a roster spot for Michael Wacha (concussion), who will start Tuesday's game against the Mariners. The 26-year-old has slashed just .208/.278/.357 over 67 contests in 2025.
