Reds manager Terry Francona said Monday that Lowder (forearm/oblique) is taking part in rotational work and is expected to start throwing this week, MLB.com reports.

Francona added that Lowder is going to have a "pretty big buildup" while the right-hander recovers from a forearm strain and a left oblique strain. The Reds appear to be ruling Lowder out from pitching again during the 2025 season, but Francona said that he's hopeful that the 23-year-old will be available for the Arizona Fall League and have a "semi-normal winter."
