Ronny Cruz News: Dealt to Washington
The Nationals acquired Cruz and outfielder Christian Franklin from the Cubs on Wednesday in exchange for right-hander Michael Soroka, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
Cruz has yet to make it past rookie ball since being selected with the 90th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft. The 18-year-old infielder has slashed .271/.314/.429 through 191 plate appearances in the Arizona Complex League this season and will aim to join the Nationals' Single-A affiliate in Fredericksburg before the end of 2025.
