Tyler Wade News: Club option declined

The Padres declined Wade's $1 million club option for 2026 on Tuesday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Wade has never been regarded as much of an offensive threat in the big leagues and slashed just .206/.309/.252 across 127 MLB plate appearances during the 2025 regular season. He'll receive a $50,000 buyout on his way out of San Diego and attempt to leverage his defensive versatility to land a new gig in free agency.
