Texas Rangers A
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Gutierrez, a tooled-up 6-foot-3 outfielder from Venezuela, destroyed the Dominican Summer League (150 wRC+) as a 17-year-old and later in the summer was the second-youngest hitter to get 80-plus plate appearances in the Arizona Complex League. He slashed .352/.408/.538 with three home runs, five steals and an 18:8 K:BB in 103 plate appearances in the DSL. Gutierrez got $2 million from the Rangers when he signed last offseason, and now he is one of the most exciting players in their farm system. His athleticism, bat speed and projectable frame are a perfect trio of upside indicators for a player his age. He could be one of the youngest players at Single-A this season. Read Past Outlooks
