Moreno was outrighted to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Moreno was designated for assignment earlier in the week, and after passing through waivers unclaimed, he'll head to Columbus to serve as organizational pitching depth. The 30-year-old owns a 0.99 ERA across 27.1 minor-league innings this season, though he's struggled to a 4.76 ERA across 5.2 big-league innings.

2016 Fantasy Outlook
Moreno had seemingly mastered Double-A coming into the season, pitching to a 0.96 ERA in a brief stint there in 2013 and working to a 0.79 ERA mark in 2014 before being promoted, and he mostly continued that success at Triple-A in 2015. In 53.2 innings at the level, Moreno boasted a 2.18 ERA with just a .210 batting average against – though his strikeout rate fell while his walk totals climbed – earning him his first taste of the big leagues. He struggled a bit before coming down with a bout of right elbow inflammation that cost him the remaining two months of the season, though he was fortunate enough to avoid a serious injury. The 29-year-old doesn’t have overpowering stuff – his fastball averaged a decent, but not dominant, 94.8 mph while in the majors – so he likely won’t enter 2016 with a defined role. If the team is in need of bullpen arms, Moreno could spend some more time in the majors, but he seems more likely just to serve as organizational depth.
