Rest-of-Season Projections

Vaughn was promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
ANALYSIS
The promotion is a bit odd, considering Vaughn is batting just .190/.281/.293 on the season, but it could be a case where the Mets simply need outfield bodies at their Triple-A affiliate. Despite Vaughn's major league bloodlines, he's not much of a revered prospect at this point.

2011 Fantasy Outlook
Vaughn, the son of former major league slugger Greg Vaughn, started his professional career with a bang by hitting .307/.396/.557 with 14 homers and 12 steals in 264 at-bats for Brooklyn in the New York-Penn League. A fourth-round pick in 2010, Vaughn has excellent tools, but scouts weren't sure how he would perform against pro pitching. It went well in his first exposure, as he displayed his power and speed with better than expected plate discipline. He's already rated among the Mets' best prospects and could be their right fielder of the future.
