ANALYSIS
The Diamondbacks have a glaring need at catcher, with Peter O'Brien looking incapable of playing the position at the major league level and Rule 5 pick Oscar Hernandez (wrist) out up to two months. However, Blanke will likely serve as little more than depth, having struggled to a .642 OPS at Double-A in his last full season in 2013. He figures to repeat the Double-A level for a good portion of 2015.
