Barrett Barnes

For the first time in his four professional seasons, Barnes stayed healthy, and the results proved encouraging. A supplemental pick in the first round of the 2012 draft, the outfielder displayed good plate discipline (66:44 K:BB ratio) and a bit of pop, including nine homers and a .754 OPS. At 24, he’s old for a player with only 126 Double-A at-bats, but given the makeup of big league outfield, it could prove tricky for him to make it as an everyday player in Pittsburgh anytime soon. Barnes is a lesser dynasty league asset than Austin Meadows or Harold Ramirez, but with a solid 2016 he could be the first of that trio to reach the big leagues.
