The right-hander will be available on three days' rest, though he handled a relatively light workload of 2.1 innings in his final start with Omaha on Saturday prior to his promotion.

The right-hander has been working as a starter at Triple-A Buffalo and had a 4.67 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 113:38 K:BB across 131 frames in 2022. The Blue Jays have openings at the back end of the rotation with Yusei Kikuchi coming off a poor season and Hyun Jin Ryu recovering from Tommy John surgery, but Hatch is likely a longshot to open 2023 as a starter for Toronto. However, a solid showing at Triple-A should be enough to earn him a look at some point during the season.
