Jan Levine sees another questionable closer battle in the NL Central. How should waiver wire pickers attack the Cardinals' bullpen?
2018 Fantasy Outlook
Lee was added to the Marlins' 40-man roster in the offseason, giving him a real shot to contribute in 2018, but there is a total absence of power here. A 12th round pick by the Rays in 2014, Lee has managed all of three home runs in 403 minor-league games to this point. His isolated power marks have ranged from .024 to .080, and his future home park in Miami will likely just further exacerbate the problem. To his credit, Lee has a strong handle on the strike zone, as evidenced by his 13.7 percent walk rate and 18.3 percent strikeout rate in 60 games with Double-A Jacksonville after being traded in late June. He also has some speed, but his success rates on the bases have been lackluster (20-for-33 last year). Look for Lee to compete for a spot in the Marlins' depleted outfield in spring training.
