Mike Marjama

The Mariners acquired Marjama from the Rays in August after he hit .274/.342/.445 with nine homers (120 wRC+) in 72 games with Triple-A Durham. His numbers fell off after he joined the Mariners' Triple-A affiliate, but Marjama's strikeout and walk rates held firm (17.4 percent, 8.1 percent) and Seattle rewarded him with a September callup. He was used sparingly over the final weeks, but Marjama broke the seal with his first big-league homer, giving him a total of 13 for the year between the two levels. The 28-year-old also displayed impressive ability behind the plate with the big club, likely giving him the inside track at the backup role behind Mike Zunino entering spring training.
