Past Fantasy Outlooks
2009
2003
Knight was a feel-good story in 2008, pitching well enough at Triple-A New Orleans to make his first appearance in the majors since 2003, then earning a bronze medal with the US Olympic Team. Knight then was a September callup with the Mets, making one more start and two more relief appearances, but he will likely begin 2009 back in the minors.
Knight, who posted an 81/37 K/BB ratio, a 3.90 ERA and 12 saves in 80 2/3 Triple-A innings last season, should be given a chance to win a middle relief job in spring training. Knight throws in the mid-to-high 90s, though he'll have to improve his command to make an impact at the major league level.

Knight, who potentially would have started in place of Pedro Martinez against the Phillies if Martinez was unable to get loose, ended up pitching a scoreless fifth inning in relief of Martinez, who was knocked out after four innings, on Sunday, the NY Newsday reports.
