ANALYSIS
Morlan is trying to regain the stuff he showed back in the Twins system in 2006 and 2007. At his best he can hit 94 mph and has a plus slider, but both his command and velocity can waiver. He's been effective so far this year and could be a bullpen candidate late in the year.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2008
2007
Morlan was traded to Tampa Bay from Minnesota in the Matt Garza-Delmon Young deal. He was one of Minnesota's top pitching prospects with a 99:20 K:BB ratio in 69.2 innings between High-A and Double-A last season. He mostly worked as a reliever, but that's more due to Minnesota's minor league depth rather than his skill set, although he doesn't have a great second pitch after his fastball. He'll likely start the season at Double-A but could see the majors late in 2008 and make an impact in 2009.Morlan was a late addition in the Delmon Young-Matt Garza deal, and he immediately becomes the best relief pitching prospect in the Rays' organization. He'll likely start 2008 back at Double-A, since he wasn't there that long in 2007. However, if he continues to impress, Morlan might be a September callup.
