Cuberland has decided to retire, Corey Brock of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Cumberland has struggled with a neurological disorder that forced him into retirement a year ago, but got clearance from the Sports Concussion Institute to resume baseball activities. He spent 15 days in the minor league complex for an attempted comeback, which has now apparently ended. After a ridiculous .946 OPS in 249 at-bats to begin Low-A Lake Elsinore's 2010 season, Cumberland was promoted to Double-A San Antonio at the age of 21 and seemed on his way. Good luck to Mr. Cumberland in the future.
