Secures third win
PSeattle Mariners
September 20, 2019
Brennan (3-6) was credited with the win in an extra-innings victory over the Pirates on Thursday, firing a perfect 10th inning during which he recorded one strikeout.
ANALYSIS
Brennan needed a scant nine pitches to preserve a 5-5 tie and subsequently became the pitcher of record courtesy of Aaron Nola's go-ahead RBI groundout in the top half of the 11th. Except for a stumble his last time out versus the White Sox on Sunday, Brennan has been largely effective since returning from the injured list Sept. 1, generating scoreless efforts in six of seven appearances while posting a sparkling 9:0 K:BB across 8.1 innings over that span.

* Exit Velocity, Barrels/BBE %, Balls Hit 95+ MPH %, and Spin Rate are benchmarked against this season's data (min 20 IP). See here for more exit velocity/barrels stats plus an explanation of current limitations with that data set.

AL FAAB Factor: Waiver Pickups of the Week
183 days ago
Erik Siegrist checks out the waiver options in the American League and thinks it's worth chasing after a possible breakout season from Daniel Vogelbach.
2017 Fantasy Outlook
The right-hander began the season at Double-A for the first time, but he was sent down after four dreadful (23 earned runs over 14.2 innings). He was at least serviceable as a starter for High-A Winston-Salem, compiling a 4.54 ERA with two complete games to finish his time at that level. This prompted a return to Double-A, although more struggles in the rotation led the 25-year-old to be moved to the bullpen, which only managed to help him lower his ERA to a horrific 8.09. Brennan improved his strikeout rate from the years prior, but his major control issues still lingered throughout the season. The fact that his FIP at Double-A was over four runs lower than his ERA is promising, but his lack of command will make it difficult for him to move up from Double-A during the 2017 season.

Arm
August 14, 2019
Brennan reported being completely pain-free Wednesday after having exited Tuesday's appearance versus the Padres with arm discomfort, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports. "There's zero pain and I passed all the strength tests," Brennan said. "As the season goes on, it's more of a fatigue factor in your arm. I was maybe a little more tired than normal arm-wise, so it was kind of dragging. But today I played catch and the ball came out really good."
