Jose Albertos
19-Year-Old PitcherRP
2018 Fantasy Outlook
It's easy to get caught up dreaming on Albertos' upside. He has a plus fastball with a plus changeup and plus breaking ball on the way. Unfortunately, he already has an unathletic body that figures to continue to trend in the wrong direction. There is a reason scouts get excited when they see a 6-foot-4, 180-pound teenage hurler. Well, Albertos represents the opposite phenomenon -- a 19-year-old who is a physically mature 6-foot-1 and already pushing 200 pounds. His command is fringe-average, and given his lack of athleticism, he may not improve much in that department. Minor arm issues have limited him to just 47 innings as a pro, but one of the few positives regarding his body is the fact he should be able to hold up under a starter's workload -- he just hasn't had a chance to prove that yet. His top two goals for 2018 will be to approach 80-to-90 innings while throwing more strikes and better strikes. If he accomplishes both of those objectives, No. 2 starter upside will become more realistic. Read Past Outlooks
