Analysis
Cabello was a trendy prospect a few years ago, but he hasn't shone as bright above the Gulf Coast League. He's noteworthy as a catcher turned center fielder with plus speed and a quick bat, but Cabello could have desperately used the developmental reps that the pandemic cost him in 2020.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
A catcher-turned-center fielder, Cabello netted $1.35 million last winter on the strength of a well-rounded toolset that allowed him to make that extremely rare position change. He quickly showed he was too advanced for the Dominican Summer League and was sent stateside to the Gulf Coast League, where he was the league’s best hitter (174 wRC+) by a wide margin, despite being the the sixth-youngest hitter on the circuit. A plus runner, Cabello is still learning how to use his speed on the bases and in the field. He has a chance to be a plus hitter with plus power, but will need to start using the whole field (57.1 Pull%) as he climbs the ladder. His season was cut short in mid-August when he dislocated his non-throwing shoulder. The injury required surgery but he will be ready for spring training. Cabello has a lower realistic floor than some of the other top teenagers who broke out in rookie ball last season, but his ceiling is up there with any of them.
