2021 Fantasy Outlook
A 10th round pick in 2017, Brogdon made a quick climb through the Phillies' system and debuted for the club's beleaguered bullpen in August, delivering nine solid appearances down the stretch. The 25-year-old has a closer's mentality but a set-up man's arsenal, attacking the strike zone with a mid-90s fastball, a changeup and a cutter as a chase pitch against righties. The result last season was strong strikeout numbers and a sub-1.00 WHIP but a somewhat inflated ERA due to untimely homers, an affliction that Phillies fans are all too familiar with from the team's relievers. With Hector Neris, Archie Bradley and newcomer Jose Alvarado likely to handle most of the high-leverage work, Brogdon should settle into a role in the middle innings, but a quick start to the year could make him a useful source of holds. Out with groin issue

October 2, 2021
Brogdon landed on the 10-day injured list with right groin tightness Saturday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brogdon had only just returned from a stint on the injured list with a strained right groin Tuesday, and the issue evidently hadn't completely healed. He looked good in his two appearances since his return, striking out five over 2.2 scoreless innings, but his season is now over. Seranthony Dominguez was recalled to take Brogdon's place in the bullpen.
