Arthroscopic knee surgery in September brought an official end to Liberatore's 2018 season, though by that point he had already been released by the Dodgers. The 31-year-old spent the last four seasons in Los Angeles' organization, and had a 3.55 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 118 games, though he appeared in only 21 over the past two seasons. He actually posted a 2.76 ERA in that brief period, though the 1.41 WHIP, 3.90 FIP and 5.5 BB/9 suggest those numbers would inflate with a larger sample size. The left-hander should have no issues come spring training following the surgery, and should be able to latch on with a new team via a minor-league contract with a chance to compete for a spot in the middle innings.
