Morrissey saw time primarily at third base at Triple-A Sacramento in 2004. There's not enough power in his bat to suggest he's anything more than a decent utility infielder down the road, and his glove won't get him to the big leagues either.
He's not going to hit for enough power to be anything more than a middle infielder, and the A's are pretty set there with Bobby Crosby and Esteban German. There's a utility role down the road waiting for him somewhere.
Struggled at Double-A but was solid in the recently completed Arizona Fall League. He's started to play all over the diamond, with a utility role likely his future. He'll have to handle the jump to Triple-A first, with Bobby Crosby and Esteban German posing real threats to his future as an everyday player.
