2004 Fantasy Outlook
Dobies, the third round pick in 2004 from the University of Pennsylvania, is a control left-hander that amasses strikeouts with speed variance more than velocity. He gets good movement on his mid 80s fastball and also a slower cutter and changeup using various grips. He should have success in the minors initially but these types are generally slower to develop through the high minors. He should be readily sign-able and assigned to Rookie-League for the remainder of 2004.
