LaRoche returned to action for Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday after missing 25 games on the disabled list with a lower-back strain, The Buffalo News reports.
                  Analysis
LaRoche will be 31 in September and the Blue Jays seem to be pretty well set in their infield, so he seems like organization filler at this stage of his career.

LaRoche quite simply has nowhere to go but up in 2011. Coming off a disastrous season in which he lost his spot at third base to Pedro Alvarez and then started only five games after July 2, the 27-year-old infielder managed a feeble composite line of .206/.268/.287 with four homers and 16 RBI in 247 at-bats. LaRoche proved to be the anti Manny Mota as a pinch-hitter, going 5-for-38, mostly in a second half that saw him bat .109 after the All-Star break. Pittsburgh non-tendered the younger LaRoche brother in November. He may get an invitation to spring training with another organization, but he'll likely start the 2011 campaign at the Triple-A level. LaRoche actually led the Pirates with 64 RBI in 2009, but he'll need to first regain some of the confidence he likely lost in the personal wasteland that marked his 2010 season.
