                  Analysis
Penny, who signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays in December, gave up eight runs in seven spring training innings. In his first three years in the majors, Penny became a workhorse for the Dodgers, recording three straight seasons with 170-plus innings pitched and making back-to-back All Star appearances in 2006-07. However, his career quickly spiraled out of control from there, as he only managed to reach the 170 inning plateau twice in the subsequent years. He'll end his career with 4.29 ERA through 1,925 innings.

Penny triumphantly worked his way back to the majors after missing the entire 2013 season, reuniting with his original franchise to appear in eight games (four starts) for the Marlins. The feel-good story ends there, however, as Penny was lit for 19 earned runs in 26 innings pitched (6.58 ERA) while posting an awful 1.81 WHIP and 13:13 K:BB ratio. Penny elected free agency following the 2014 and is a long shot to earn a significant role with the White Sox in 2015 after inking a minor league deal in the offseason.
