                  Assigned outright to Triple-A
Kelly was outrighted to Triple-A New Orleans on Saturday, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
                  Analysis
Designated for assignment earlier in the week, Kelly has accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 36-year-old will likely play out the rest of the year as organizational depth in the minors now that he's off the 40-man roster.

Kelly signed with Miami in the offseason and fought all spring training for a spot on the Opening Day roster. He did end up making the team, however, he was buried on the bench and ended up only having one at-bat due to two DL stints, one of which led to Tommy John surgery that ended his season in July. Kelly is best known for his versatility, because he has played every position at some point throughout his career. However, the 35-year-old doesn't pose much of an offensive threat, and he's a long shot to contribute much in 2016 coming off of major elbow surgery.
