He had a 5.64 ERA in his last six starts and walked a season-high three batters while recording three outs in a final disaster start Aug. 9 before he got moved to the development list. Perez had a very impressive stretch from late April through early June, when he logged a 3.40 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 50:10 K:BB in 45 innings over eight starts, and he has generally impressed with his advanced control. The Nicaraguan righty doesn't turn 21 until February and still built up to 82 innings this season despite the disappointing finish.
