De La Cruz was a highly touted international prospect when the Tigers gave him a $1.8 million signing bonus back in 2018, but the Dominican-born outfielder hasn't advanced from the lower levels of the minors. In 2025, the 23-year-old slashed .157/.255/.225 with a 36.3 percent strikeout rate for Single-A Lakeland before getting cut loose.
