Rest-of-Season Projections
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Herrera won the backup catcher job behind Carson Kelly for the Diamondbacks going into last season, but the team wound up using Daulton Varsho more than expected at the position. That meant Herrera often operated as the third catcher when he wasn't back at Triple-A Reno, and he managed a lowly .457 OPS at the plate when he did get his chances. Varsho has since been traded to the Blue Jays, but now Herrera has Gabriel Moreno to contend with. He's unlikely to see much action in the majors in 2023 and even if he did it's not a profile for fantasy managers to get excited about. Read Past Outlooks
