Carasiti signed a minor-league contract Monday with the Rockies that includes an invitation to spring training.
ANALYSIS
Carasiti was roughed up to the tune of a 6.29 ERA and 16:11 K:BB across 24.1 frames for the Rockies last season, but they saw enough promise in him to bring him back. The 32-year-old reliever is expected to open the 2024 campaign at Triple-A Albuquerque.

For example, if the bar is halfway across, then the player falls into the 50th percentile for that stat and it would be considered average.

* Exit Velocity, Barrels/BBE %, Balls Hit 95+ MPH %, and Spin Rate are benchmarked against 2019 data (min 30 IP). See here for more exit velocity/barrels stats plus an explanation of current limitations with that data set.

Monkey Knife Fight: MLB Predictions
July 2, 2019
Charlie Blackmon has raked against right-handed pitchers at home all season. Juan Carlo Blanco expects the Rockies outfielder to have another big night Tuesday.
2017 Fantasy Outlook
Carasiti isn't a high-profile prospect in the Rockies' system, but since transitioning to relief work in 2014, he's quietly been a steady reliever at every step of the minor leagues. It was no different in 2016, as his 2.31 ERA and 9.9 K/9 in 39 innings with Double-A Hartford show. After all this success in the minors, the Rockies decided to give him a shot in the major league bullpen, although the initial results were dreadful. Through his first 11 appearances, Carasiti held a paltry 14.40 ERA and 3.20 WHIP. However, the 25-year-old completely turned things around in his last eight appearances, giving up no runs while holding an 11.1 K/9 in the second half of September. With how tumultuous the Rockies' bullpen situation has been the past few years, Carasiti stands a good chance of garnering a full-time job if his hot streak at the end of the season carries into spring training.
