2016 Fantasy Outlook
Matsuda will attempt to move to MLB this season from Japan. He had a career-high 35 home runs last season but that number was inflated by his team, Softbank, moving in the fences in their home park. Matsuda had previously hit 18-25 home runs per season. His approach is optimized to mash breaking balls and off-speed pitches, and he may struggle to catch up to MLB velocity. Matsuda offers solid defense in the outfield. He'll try to win a job as a reserve with a MLB team this spring.
