Released by Orioles
Peralta was released from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to being released Tuesday, Peralta had struggled to a 10.34 ERA and 2.70 WHIP with nine strikeouts over 15.2 innings in nine appearances with Norfolk. The 25-year-old has never really put it all together on the mound and has yet to make his major-league debut. He'll now look for another minor-league opportunity elsewhere.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
At 19 years old, Peralta more than held his own at Low-A Delmarva in his first shot at full-season ball. There, opposing batters hit just .230 against the projectable righty. The 6-foot-5 hurler throws hard, but his command remains erratic, and his secondary pitches are still works in progress. Nevertheless, the Orioles expect the Dominican product to put on some muscle and fill out, and the strikeout potential is certainly evident (22.4 percent strikeout rate). There's an argument to be made that Peralta has the most realistic upside of any starting pitching prospect in the Baltimore system right now, although that is not saying much. He is still rather raw, but will start the season at High-A Frederick where he will work on hitting his spots and honing his offspeed offerings.
