Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2014
2013
Light can hit 100 mph on the radar gun, which has resulted in high strikeout rates, but he's struggled with control throughout his time as a minor leaguer. He improved at Boston's Triple-A Pawtucket last year with a 2.32 ERA and went 7-for-7 in save chances, though he fought through a 4.9 BB/9. Minnesota traded for him in late July in their continued quest to seek out high-velocity relievers. Light struggled in the majors, however, with a 9.6 BB/9 in 16.2 innings. After being traded to the Pirates over the offseason, he'll likely spend much of 2017 at Triple-A Indianapolis until he improves his control, but Light's electric arm gives him enough promise to keep him in the mix for a major league bullpen role.
