Perez, who was competing for a left-handed bullpen job, was reassigned to minor league camp Friday, the Seattle Times reports.
                  Analysis
Perez struggled with six runs and nine hits allowed in 4.2 innings. Lucas Luetge was also cut, leaving David Rollins, Tyler Olson and Joe Saunders competing for the second lefty job behind Charlie Furbush. There is no guarantee the Mariners keep two left-handers, though. Perez could get called up later in the year.

Perez was slowed by some early-spring shoulder soreness before landing on the DL in late April with more shoulder/lat issues. He tried the rehab route, but could never get over the last hurdle and eventually went under the knife in September. He's expected to be ready for spring training, but might be brought along slowly. In any event, Perez is looking for a new team after getting non-tendered by the Indians in November.
