2023 Projections
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Urias produced a fairly average line last year, slashing .248/.305/.414 with 16 home runs, 51 RBI, 50 runs scored and a stolen base in 445 plate appearances. He was right in line with his expected metrics, and he played well enough to earn regular run at second and third base. Urias' future with the Orioles is likely dependent on how Gunnar Henderson settles in at the major-league level. Urias is entering his age-29 season, so there's not a lot of room for growth. His ability to make hard contact (45.1 percent career hard-hit rate) is his only real standout mark, but Camden Yards' spacious left field will likely continue to see him rack up doubles at the expense of homers. He does have versatility in his favor, which should help him maintain a regular spot in the lineup. Read Past Outlooks

ANALYSIS
Urias began the spring without a set spot in the Orioles' lineup, but he's not alone among struggling infielders this spring. All of Gunnar Henderson, Adam Frazier and Jorge Mateo are also batting under .200 so far, so Urias' struggles don't stand out as much. The right-handed hitter should at least be able to push for a short-side platoon role at second base or third base, especially since he won a Gold Glove at the hot corner in 2022.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
Urias received his first extended run in the majors in 2021 and hit .279/.361/.412 with seven home runs, 38 RBI and one stolen base in 85 games. The 27-year-old doesn't provide much upside with his power or baserunning, which combined with Baltimore's poor lineup severely limits any fantasy potential. Urias should see plenty of playing time to open the season for the Orioles and will likely need to surpass last season's production to be a worthwhile fantasy asset in 2022.
