2019 Fantasy Outlook
Brown hit the Double-A level for the first time last season, and Southern League hitters didn't provide much resistance, as he dominated opposing batters en route to being named pitcher of the year in both the league and the Brewers organization. He isn't overpowering in the traditional sense, averaging under a strikeout per inning in his career, but thanks to a three-pitch combo that includes a 92-95 mph fastball and plus curveball, he is able to frequently keep batters off balance. His 56.0 GB% not only led all Southern League pitchers, but would have ranked first in the Texas League and Eastern League as well. That ability to generate groundballs gives him a higher floor than his stuff would otherwise indicate. He turned 24 during the offseason and figures to open in the Pacific Coast League. Brown is firmly on the Brewers' radar for 2019, although they may break him in as a power reliever, a la Corbin Burnes in 2018.
