2024 Fantasy Outlook
Following four seasons in Toronto, Trent was signed by the Bucks during the offseason. In Milwaukee, the veteran guard will likely slot in as the starting two-guard alongside Damian Lillard. After back-to-back top-70 seasons in 2021-22 and 2022-23, Trent struggled to find any rhythm last year, finishing just inside the top 150 in nine-category leagues. His numbers dropped across the board, averaging 13.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.5 three-pointers in 28.1 minutes per game. However, he was the 47th-ranked player over the final month of the season and looked more like the player we saw in the two years prior. Milwaukee will be hoping Trent can carry that momentum into the 2024-25 season, providing the Bucks with a reliable floor-spacer and opening up the court for Giannis Antetokounmpo to go to work. Although it is unlikely Trent will get back to being a top-70 player, there is a chance he could flirt with top-100 value. As this would be considered his ceiling, managers would be wise to try and wait before drafting Trent, aiming for the last or second-to-last round. Read Past Outlooks

Returning to Milwaukee
Trent agreed to a two-year, $7.5 million deal with the Bucks on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Trent was slated to hit the open market as an unrestricted free agent, but the Bucks moved fast to keep him around. The veteran provides some much-needed floor spacing, and he should see consistent minutes in Milwaukee as an outside scoring threat. Trent averaged 11.1 points, 2.4 three-pointers, 2.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals across 25.6 minutes per game in 74 regular-season appearances (nine starts) with the Bucks in 2024-25.

Trent put together another strong campaign in 2022-23 as the Raptors' primary three-and-D wing, averaging 17.4 points, 2.5 three-pointers and 1.6 steals a game. His performance over the last two-plus seasons in Toronto was expected to earn him a big payday as a free agent. Instead, the 24-year-old exercised his relatively affordable $18.5 million player option for the upcoming season and seems intent on signing an extension to stay with the club, a pleasant surprise for a franchise that has sometimes has trouble getting talent to come north of the border. Trent doesn't have a lot more to offer in terms of skills, but his shooting is desperately needed on a roster that otherwise lacks reliable options to attack from long range. The biggest question mark for him heading into 2023-24 is what his role will be. New head coach Darko Rajakovic may not favor the short rotation that Nick Nurse did, which could cut into Trent's minutes. More importantly, he found himself on the bench more often than not after last year's trade deadline following the acquisition of center Jakob Poeltl, with OG Anunoby slotting in as the starting two-guard instead. Trent could still be efficient and productive if he finds himself as the linchpin of the second unit under Rajakovic, but he might have a hard time matching the raw numbers he accumulated the last two years.

With Damian Lillard set for an extended absence with his torn Achilles, Trent would bring some much -needed firepower to the backcourt.
