2025 Fantasy Outlook
For the third year in a row, Hardy had some positive moments for the Mavericks off the bench, but minimal workloads once again limited him. He averaged just 15.9 minutes across 57 regular-season appearances to go with 8.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.3 three-pointers on 43.5 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from beyond the arc. Needless to say, he never came close to any real fantasy value. The Mavericks will be without Kyrie Irving (knee) for the start of the 2025-26 season, although he's expected to return around January. To fill the void, the Mavericks brought in D'Angelo Russell and re-signed Dante Exum. The Mavericks have great depth at shooting guard in Klay Thompson, Max Christie and Caleb Martin, and the same is true at small forward with No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg and Naji Marshall. It's hard to see where the minutes are going to come from for Hardy, and he could be buried on the depth chart to open the campaign. Read Past Outlooks

Plays well off bench
Hardy recorded 13 points (5-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists and three turnovers in 18 minutes of Monday's 114-101 preseason win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
D'Angelo Russell was rested Monday, so the Mavericks opted to start Cooper Flagg at point guard. Hardy made the most of his limited run off the bench, but Ryan Nembhard, who is also vying for rotation minutes, played 26 minutes and had six points, 12 assists and five rebounds.

2022
The 2023-24 season was basically a rinse-and-repeat version of his rookie season with Hardy playing a consistent yet modest role off the bench in Dallas. He ended the campaign with averages of 7.3 points, 1.5 assists and 1.1 three-pointers in 13.5 minutes per game, keeping him outside the top 400 in standard formats. Although he has flashed some upside on the offensive end, Hardy will once again be in an uphill battle for playing time, especially if both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving remain relatively healthy. The arrival of Quentin Grimes also complicates matters for Hardy, as does the return of Spencer Dinwiddie. Hardy still has value in dynasty formats, but as for redraft leagues, it's hard to see him being anything more than a periodical streaming consideration.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Kidd wants more from him
Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said Tuesday that he wants to see Hardy become more than a scorer, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
"I think growth has to be able to not just score the ball," Kidd said. "We know he can do that. Can he make plays for others? Can he get us set in the offense? Being able to compete on the defensive end. He's going to get a great opportunity in preseason to show that he has grown. We believe that he's grown. We got guys who can flat out score but can we make the extra pass to make the game that much easier or simple? I think Hardy can do that." Overall, Hardy has had a rough preseason. Through three exhibitions, he's shooting 32.3 percent from the field and is averaging 10.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.7 turnovers in 18.2 minutes per contest.
