Jaylen Wells News: Shut down for rest of summer
Wells will be rested for the remainder of the Las Vegas Summer League, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
The Grizzlies' decision to withhold Wells from the rest of the summer slate comes as little surprise, as he doesn't have much more to prove. A regular part of the Memphis rotation throughout his rookie season before he fractured his wrist and sustained a concussion April 8, Wells returned to full health for Salt Lake City and Las Vegas Summer League and averaged 18.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in five appearances. He's expected to play a key role on the wing for Memphis during his second NBA campaign with Desmond Bane out of the picture.
