Baxter was sentenced to two months in jail after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of carrying a gun a few blocks from the White House, the Chicago Tribune reports.

ANALYSIS
Baxter, who played for Charlotte last season, has been in jail since his arrest Aug. 16, when Secret Service officers responded to reports of shots being fired from a white sport utility vehicle. The officers found a gun and spent shell casings in the SUV that Baxter was driving.

Baxter’s a bit undersized for a power forward, but provides a lot of heart and energy. He performed well for Chicago in their summer league games, which should give him a chance to battle Marcus Fizer for minutes as Tyson Chandler’s backup.
