Chalmers did not play Wednesday night in Atlanta's preseason opener against the Grizzlies because of an injured right ankle, the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Chalmers will also miss Friday night's game against Houston. He's fourth on the depth chart at point guard and is a long shot to make the team.

Chalmers was released by Atlanta, which is all that needs to be said. After playing minimally for the Clippers in 2004-05, Chalmers spent last season with Tau Ceramica and was part of the Spanish Cup winning team. Three-point shooting is his best attribute, but Chalmers did not get the chance to put that skill to use for the Hawks.
Chalmers will try to find a roster spot as a reserve guard, but he's unlikely to find major minutes with the T-Wolves. Still, a change of scenery can't hurt after he languished with the Clippers.
Chalmers is one of the many options the Clippers have in an already crowded backcourt. Marko Jaric figures to start at point guard, and Shaun Livingston is the PG of the future, leaving Chalmers as the odd man out, at least at this stage of the game.
Chalmers is another quick point guard who is at his best in the transition game. He played the two for much of the year and often looks for his own shot. Chalmers often gets out of control and has a poor assist-to-turnover ratio. Chalmers looks to be a late second round pick.
