2017-18
There was no outlook written for Ronnie Brewer.
2012-13
Brewer spent the last two seasons providing the Chicago Bulls with solid defense off the bench and will look to do the same for the Knicks this season. He underwent offseason knee surgery, but it appears that he will be ready for the start of the season. He has limited offensive capabilities and isn’t likely to log significant minutes, leaving him with little fantasy value.
2011-12
Brewer was projected to open the 2010-11 season as the Bulls' starter at shooting guard, but Bogans supplanted him before the season. Brewer still played 22 minutes nightly, but could see a decrease in minutes this year with Hamilton joining Chicago. In addition, his expiring contract could be used as trade chip.
2010-11
Guards who don't hit three-pointers are almost universally useless. Brewer is the rare case of a guard who gains value in other ways. Though he averaged a miniscule 8.8 points per game last season and had a grand total of eight three-pointers the whole season, Brewer records enough steals (1.6 per game last season) to reside on the fringes of relevance. Brewer agreed to a three-year contract with the Bulls in July, and should get a chance to start. Still, unless you're absolutely dying for steals, he's probably a guy just to keep on your Watch List.
2009-10
Brewer has been and will continue to be one of those perpetually underrated players who always manages to sneak under the radar on draft day, only to make a surprise appearance in the top-100 at season’s end. He affords owners who draft him the rare luxury of providing a mid-to-late round boost in steals at a stage in the draft where they are increasingly scarce. Brewer is a bit inconsistent at times, but has shown steady growth and improvement over the course of his three-year career. He increased his averages across the board during the second half of the season, putting up 14.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.1 steals, 0.7 treys and 0.5 blocks on 53.3 percent shooting from the field. He’s a lock to finish in the top-100 and could very well improve on his per-game averages that ranked him among the top-80 last season.
2008-09
After playing only 12 mpg in 56 contests as a rookie, Brewer’s time went up dramatically in his second season to 27.5 in 76 games. This is an important trend, as Brewer’s per-36-minute numbers were impressive last season: 15.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals, 2.1 assists, and 55.8 percent field-goal shooting on 10.9 attempts. He’s got a good chance to see 30-plus minutes this season, so those totals aren’t entirely beyond reach. Brewer’s an athletic wing with good enough ball-handling skills to play some point guard and enough size to play some small forward. His only weakness is a lack of 3-point range.
2007-08
Brewer played in 56 games as a rookie, averaging 12.6 minutes per game. He's a very quick wing player that can play either shooting guard or small forward; the Jazz hope that he can improve enough in his second-year to provide depth at both positions. He is already proving to be a valuable defensive player, posting averages of .66 steals per game in his 12.6 minutes while shooting a nice percentage (52.8). Look for Brewer's minutes to increase this season. While he may not garner fantasy attention this season, Brewer has the potential to develop into a solid player.
