Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Jeremy Raymon Pargo was born Mar. 17, 1986 in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Chicago's Paul Robeson High School. Following his stint there, he played college basketball for Gonzaga University. In his junior campaign, he was named 2008 WCC Player of the Year. Pargo was on the cover of Sports Illustrated the following season for the 2009 March Madness issue. Jeremy has a sister, Kizzy Pargo, and a brother, Jannero. Jannero Pargo played in the NBA for 13 seasons and has been an NBA assistant coach. Pargo attended Gonzaga for four seasons. As a freshman, he started 27 of 33 appearances, averaging 2.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 17.1 minutes. As a sophomore, he was voted onto the WCC All-Conference First Team, averaging 12.1 points, 4.6 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals. As a junior, he was named WCC Player of the Year on the back of 12.1 points, 6.0 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals. During his final season, he averaged 10.2 points, 4.9 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals, claiming the Orlando Classic MVP and a spot on the WCC All-Conference Honorable Mention team. Arguably Pargo's best performance was during a win over San Diego on Jan. 29, 2007, where he managed 18 points (7-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven assists, six rebounds and three steals in 33 minutes.

There is a good chance that Pargo ends up backing up Irving, but his production should be limited and not fantasy relevant.
Pargo spent the past two seasons in the Israeli Premier League after going undrafted in 2009. He averaged 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game with Maccabi Tel-Aviv in 2010-11, and he was known for his athleticism and ball-handling skills at Gonzaga. That being said, he will probably be a bit player and a back-of-the-bench guard in his first NBA season.

The Warriors are expected to re-sign Pargo to another contract after his 10-day deal expired during the All-Star break, Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
The 34-year-old has led a nomadic existence since entering the professional ranks in 2009, spending time with four NBA clubs in addition to making stops overseas in Israel, Russia and China. Pargo looks to have at least earned himself some temporary security at basketball's top level, as he's drawn praise from coach Steve Kerr since he joined the Golden State roster earlier this month. The veteran has already leapfrogged rookie Ky Bowman on the depth chart to claim backup point guard duties, averaging 8.3 points, 2.7 assists and 1.0 rebound in 14.7 minutes per game through his three appearances with the Warriors. Golden State plans to re-sign him either to a second 10-day deal or a contract that will keep him in the fold for the remainder of the season.
