Jones had eight points (4-13 FG, 0-4 3Pt), nine rebounds and four assists during Wednesday's 102-97 loss to the Windy City Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Perry has been able to score at a decent rate this season but one of his major weaknesses is his inefficiency in shooting the basketball. For example, during his last three games, he is shooting just 33.3 percent along with just 6.7 percent from behind the arc. The former Baylor forward is averaging 11.3 points and five rebounds.

Perry Jones spent all of the 2014-15 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder before being traded this July to Boston to clear up salary space. While with OKC, Jones played in 43 games, averaging 4.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.4 steals over 14 minutes per game. Jones was with the Thunder for three years but never became a meaningful member of the team's rotation. He joins a Celtics team with 16 contracted players and 15 roster spots. Many believe that unless GM Danny Ainge pulls off a pre-season trade, Jones is most likely the odd man out come October. Jones brings an interesting mix of athleticism and size (he's 6-11) and the team does need help in the rim protection department. Should the Celtics release him, Jones will likely find an end-of-bench role with another team willing to experiment with the 23-year-old's raw potential.
Jones didn't take much of a step in his sophomore season, as he played a mere 12 minutes per game (in 62 contests) for Oklahoma City in 2013-14. Making matters worse, the 22-year-old underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in July, and even though he's expected to be ready to go for training camp, knee troubles have plagued Jones in the past. Throw in the fact he'll face stiff competition for minutes off the bench, and it's hard to see much hope for Jones's fantasy value for standard leagues in 2014-15.
The second-year forward from Baylor is one of those players who looks like he should be good, but rarely is. The 6-11 Jones appeared in 38 games and rarely had crooked numbers on the stat sheet. He averaged 2.3 points and 1.6 rebounds and should provide about the same this year.
The 28th overall pick in the 2012 draft, Jones was considered a top-10 selection until a knee injury hurt his draft stock. Now healthy, he'll be a matchup nightmare for opponents - faster than most power forwards, bigger than most small forwards. He might not be a great rebounder until he fills out a bit, but Oklahoma City can afford to wait. Don't be surprised if he's groomed to take over the sixth-man role by season's end as James Harden likely isn't returning next year.
