Personal Bio

Randle was born on Feb. 5, 1993 in Rock Island, Illinois to parents Willie and Gwen. He has three sisters: Lakisha, Lamera and Khaliyah. He attended high school in his home town at Rock Island High School, where he is the all-time scoring leader. Randle helped lead the school to its first Illinois state title, and even shared Mr. Basketball honors in 2011. As a consensus four-star, top-100 recruit, Randle left offers on the table from Purdue and his home state of Illinois to head out west and attend Stanford. After college, he played overseas and in the D League before making his NBA debut in January of 2017.

College/International Summary

Randle was a staple of the Stanford basketball program four all four years he was in attendance. He started 142 games over his career there, locking down the starting shooting guard job his freshman season and never looking back. Randle was also named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team after his inaugural campaign with the Cardinal, which resulted in a NIT Tournament Championship. Randle posted similar numbers his sophomore year at Stanford, but took a big leap after transitioning to the point guard role in his junior year. He averaged 18.8 ppg and earned an all- Pac-12 first-team nod. Stanford also made the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen that season as a 10-seed. By his senior year, Randle started receiving national attention. He was steadily on Wooden Award watchlists, in addition to earning first-team All-Pac-12 and first-team all-Pac-12 tournament honors. Stanford missed the NCAA Tournament that year, but won the NIT, where Randle was named the tournament's most valuable player.

Will have minutes limit
GOrlando Magic
April 4, 2021
Randle will play under a minutes restriction Sunday night against the Nuggets, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Steve Clifford did not specify how many minutes he expects Randle to play, but the guard is still dealing with the hamstring issue he picked up Saturday night at Utah. Clifford will bring Randle off the bench while rookie R.J. Hampton makes his first career start against his former team.

2019

Randle appeared in three games for the Warriors in 2019-20 between Mar. 3 and Mar. 10 -- his final appearance also coinciding with Golden State's final game due to the season being put on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. During his first appearance, he posted one rebound and one assist in 12 minutes against the Nuggets. In his second appearance, he recorded three points, one rebound, one assist and one steal in 14 minutes against the 76ers. In his third appearance, he posted two points, three assists and one steal across 15 minutes against the Clippers. Randle spent the majority of the season overseas in the Chinese CBA. There, with the Tianjin Ronggang Gold Lions, he averaged 24.7 points, 4.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 30.9 minutes per game.

2018

Randle returned to the United States after spending the 2017-18 season in Euroleague with Real Madrid. He played in the Las Vegas Summer League with the Wizards, and was signed and waived multiple times before the start of the season. Randle ended up catching on with the Wizards' G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go. He started eight total games there in the 2018-19 season, averaging 23.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists. He left the team for a bit to play with USA basketball, but returned and signed an official contract with Washington on Dec. 18. He scored seven points in his Wizards debut that night against the Hawks. Later in the season, Randle set a career-high with 20 points (8-10 FG, 4-5 3Pt) in a Feb. 9 against the Bulls. That earned him his first career start Feb. 11 (and first of two that season), and Randle logged five points in 18 minutes against the Bulls in that outing. Randle ended up appearing in 49 total games for the Wizards that season, posting averages of 5.5 points and 2.0 assists. The team missed the postseason with a 32-50 overall record.

2017

Randle spent the 2017-18 season overseas with Real Madrid of the Euroleague. He appeared in 23 games, averaging 2.6 points and 1.0 rebounds. After his team won the Euroleague Championship in the 2017-18 season, Randle would return to the United States for his second attempt to earn a spot in the NBA.

2016

After going undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft, Randle spent a year playing in the Czech Republic before returning to the United States for the 2016-17 season. He played with the Knicks in the 2016 Summer League and later signed a contract in August. Randle was waived in October but caught on with the team's D League affiliate. He left the D League in January to sign a 10-day contract with the 76ers and made his NBA debut Jan. 14 with three points against the Wizards. He logged 16 minutes on the court in his next game, scoring 10 points against the Bucks. Randle saw inconsistent playing time and was waived by the Sixers in late-February. He re-signed with his old team, the Knicks, just days later. Randle appeared in 18 games with the Knicks the rest of the way out, averaging 5.3 points, 1.6 assists and 1.5 rebounds. He set a career high with 13 points in a March 23 matchup against Portland. Randle also put up 12 points in a win against his former team in the regular-season finale April 12.
