2019 Fantasy Outlook
Nader was traded to the Thunder last offseason and ended up occasionally playing a key role in the team's rotation. In the end, he averaged just 4.0 points and 1.9 rebounds across 11.4 points per game, but when the swingman saw extended minutes with Oklahoma City, he was productive. In the one outing he saw over 30 minutes, Nader scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed five rebounds, while he averaged 11.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game when playing at least 20 minutes. Those moments, however, came few and far between for the 25-year-old, and more of the same is expected for Nader in his third NBA season. With the emergence of Terrance Ferguson last season and the expected return of Andre Roberson (kneecap) this year, Nader may struggle to earn significant minutes in the team's rotation, even with the departure of Paul George. Even if Nader does end up seeing minutes off the bench in Oklahoma City this year, they likely will be limited and inconsistent barring injuries to those playing ahead of him. Read Past Outlooks

College/International Summary

Nader split his four years of college play between Northern Illinois and Iowa State. He started in 2011-12 at Northern Illinois, where he led the Huskies in scoring (10.8 points per game) and earned MAC All-Freshman team honors. He also started 29 of 31 games. During his sophomore season, he averaged 13.1 points, 5.6 boards and 1.3 assists. He eventually transferred to Iowa State, making Nader ineligible for the 2013-14 season. 2019

Entering the break, Nader is averaging 5.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists in just over 15 minutes per game through 39 contests. The 26-year-old has carved out a rotational role with the Thunder and even went on a brief five-game starting streak in December. His highest-scoring performance of the season came on November 27 against the Trail Blazers, when Nader recorded 23 points to go along with two rebounds and an assist across 17 minutes.

2018

After spending his rookie season with the Boston Celtics, Abdel Nader was sent to the Oklahoma City Thunder before the 2018-19 campaign. He saw a slightly increased role with his new team and played in 61 games, including one start. Nader averaged 4.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 11.4 minutes per game. He also shot 42.3 percent from the field. All of those numbers represented improvements over his rookie campaign. The 6-foot-6 forward had nine double-digit scoring games. Five of those came during a 13-game stretch in December and January. During that span, he averaged 7.5 points and 2.4 rebounds while shooting 52.8 percent from the field, including 51.9 percent from deep. Nader posted a career-high 18-point performance against the Phoenix Suns on Dec. 28. He appeared in three postseason contests, compiling two points and one block.

2017

A standout at Iowa State University, Nader's strong play in the G League earned him a look with the Celtics. He went on to appear in 48 games for Boston in 2017-18, making his NBA debut on Oct. 18 against Milwaukee. Nader began his career with four points and an assist in that game against the Bucks. After receiving sporadic playing time early in the year, Nader became a fixture in the Boston lineup late in the season. Nader got some run in each of Boston's final 16 regular-season contests, as well. During that time, Nader averaged 14.3 minutes. His two best performances of the season came in back-to-back appearances. After posting 10 points in a loss to Washington on March 14, Nader followed that up with an 11-point effort in a win over Orlando two days later. Nader's strong play late in the season allowed head coach Brad Stevens to utilize him in the postseason. The 2016 second-rounder received playing time in the first 11 of Boston's 19 playoff contests.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Nader was the 56th overall pick in the 2016 draft who then starred in the D-League, averaging 22.0 points, six boards, four assists and 2.5 made threes per game for the Maine Red Claws. Nader parlayed that performance into a four-year deal with the Celtics, though the fourth year is a club option. Expect Nader to beat out rookie Jabari Bird for the last roster spot, but see minimal playing time. The Celtics depth chart is crowded at small forward, with Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown, Jason Tatum, Marcus Smart and probably Semi Ojeleye ahead of Nader. As Boston strives to make the Finals, only a string of injuries would allow for Nader to see meaningful floor time.
