Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Allonzo Trier was born in 1996 in Seattle. Trier's four years of high school basketball took him all over the country. He spent two years playing for the Oklahoma City Storm and Tulsa Northeast Oklahoma Association of Homeschools, earning first team all-state honors from the Tulsa World after his sophomore season. Trier then transferred to Montrose Christian School in Rockville, Maryland, where he averaged 25.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game to lead Montrose to a 20-5 record and a National Christian Schools Athletic Association Division I title. At the conclusion of the season, Trier announced he'd be moving on to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada. There, he averaged 26.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, receiving invites to the 2015 McDonald's All-American Boys' Game and the Jordan Brand Classic. Trier also earned gold medals for Team USA at 2015 FIBA U19 Championships and for U.S. Men's U18 National Team at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship in 2014. Following high school, Trier spent the next three years at the University of Arizona. You can follow Allonzo Trier on Twitter and Instagram @Iso_zo. Allonzo Trier played three seasons at the University of Arizona from 2015 through 2018. The 6-foot-4 Seattle native started 21 games as a freshman and scored 14.8 points on 46.6 percent from the field with 3.3 rebounds, but missed seven games due to a hand injury. He played in the postseason and helped the Wildcats win a Pac-12 Tournament game over Colorado with 23 points. In Trier's sophomore season, the guard averaged 17.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He led the team with 20.7 points as Arizona won the Pac-12 Tournament. The team advanced to the Sweet 16 and Trier averaged 17.0 points per tourney contest. As a junior, Trier provided 18.1 points per game and hit 50.0 percent of his field goals. He also led Arizona to another Pac-12 Tournament championship. After his junior season, Trier announced that he would head to the 2018 draft.

Struggles against Lakeland
GIowa Wolves   G League (Timberwolves)
March 6, 2021
Trier went scoreless (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) in Friday's loss against Lakeland. He also grabbed one rebound in 11 minutes of action.
ANALYSIS
Trier played the fewest minutes of any Iowa player and ended scoreless in what was a game he'll probably want to forget as soon as possible. Trier wasn't able to be Iowa's main scoring threat and finished the season averaging just 12.0 points per game while shooting 39.1 percent from the field.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Candidate to be dealt
GNew York Knicks
January 5, 2020
Trier could be on the move prior to the trade deadline, Marc Berman of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Trier has seen a sharp decrease in role in his second season as a pro, going from 23 minutes per game to 13. However, he's continued to shoot the ball well, posting a 68.5 true shooting percentage. That could make him an attractive addition for teams looking to add spacing to their second unit.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
After originally going undrafted in 2018 and signing a two-way contract with the Knicks, Trier ended up playing a key role in the team's rotation last season. He appeared in 64 games, making three starts, and averaged 10.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 22.8 minutes per game. He also shot an impressive 39.4 percent from behind the arc, but it was on just 2.1 attempts per game. While the natural progression for Trier would be for him to see an even bigger role in 2019-20, the Knicks revamped their backcourt a bit new talent that may make Trier's path to playing time a bit trickier. The Knicks not only drafted former Duke standout R.J. Barrett with the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft, but they also signed veteran guards Reggie Bullock and Wayne Ellington. As a result, so long as the Knicks remain competitive and willing to play their veteran talent, Trier will likely have to scratch and claw for every minute he can get this season.
