Robinson appeared in 61 out of 66 games for the Knicks during the shortened 2019-20 season, his second in the Association. The big center averaged 9.7 points, a career-high 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks across 23.1 minutes per contest. He shot a career- and league-high 74.2 percent from the field, as well as 56.8 from the free-throw line. In terms of NBA ranks, before the March sports stoppage, Robinson was sixth in total blocks (119), 14th in Player Efficiency Rating (23.5), sixth in offensive rebound percentage (13.7) and first in offensive rating (144.0). On Feb. 29 during a home win over the Bulls, Robinson scored a career-high 23 points. In that game, he also posted 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 29 minutes. It was one of Robinson's eight double-doubles. He had 28 performances with at least 10 points, 12 performances with at least 10 rebounds, six performances with at least three steals and 22 performances with at least three blocks. The game marked one of eight double-doubles for the center this season. Robinson's longest streak of the season with double-digit points was the final six games of the year. During that stretch, he saw 25.6 minutes per game and averaged 14.3 points on 7.8 shots, 7.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks. Robinson's longest streak with at least three blocks per game was four contests from Feb. 21 through Feb. 27. During that stretch, he averaged 9.0 points on 5.0 shots, 10.0 rebounds, 3.8 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal in 26.1 minutes.
2018
A second-round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Mitchell Robinson appeared in 66 games with the New York Knicks as a rookie. He was incredibly efficient with a 69.4 shooting percentage. The 7-foot center averaged 7.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks. Those 2.4 blocks per game ranked second in the league behind only Myles Turner. He also played 20.6 minutes per game. Robinson recorded 11 double-doubles but just one of those came before February when he really started to heat up. However, he did block nine shots in one game on Nov. 11, tying the NBA season-high for 2018-19. In 11 games from Feb. 5 to March 3, he averaged 11.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks on a tremendous 73.2 shooting percentage. He also recorded five double-doubles during that stretch. Robinson's best game of the season came on March 28 where he posted season highs in points (19) and rebounds (21).
