2020 Fantasy Outlook
Clark spent the second half of the 2019-20 campaign with the Magic, where he averaged 3.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 14.8 minutes. The 26-year-old should be in line for a similar role in 2020-21, making him irrelevant in almost all fantasy leagues. Read Past Outlooks
$Signed a two-year, $4.1 million contract with the Magic in November of 2020. Traded to the Nuggets in March of 2021. Waived by the Nuggets in April of 2021.
Personal Bio

Gary Clark was born in Smithfield, North Carolina, to Tammy McKey and Gary Clark, Sr. He has one brother, Jeremiah, and two sisters, Azia and Tanija. Clark attended and played basketball at Clayton High School in Clayton, North Carolina. By the end of his high-school tenure, he had become the school's all-time leading scorer, rebounder and shot-blocker. Clark became the first player in North Carolina history to record a quadruple-double with 22 points, 21 rebounds, 15 blocked shots and 10 assists during his senior season. He attended the University of Cincinnati, where he graduated with a degree in criminal justice. Learn more about Clark by following him on Twitter (@Gary11_Clark) and on Instagram (@gary6clark).

College/International Summary

Clark was a four-year starter for the Cincinnati Bearcats. In the sixth game of his college career, the 6-foot-6 forward had 12 points and 12 rebounds, the first of his three double-doubles as a freshman. He averaged 7.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks for a team that made the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Clark put up 10.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks as a sophomore and was named AAC Defensive Player of the Year. He posted similar numbers -- 10.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.2 blocks -- as a junior and helped the Bearcats to the Big Dance for the third straight season. Clark won AAC Player of the Year and repeated as Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. He averaged 12.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks. After four years, Clark set school records in starts and double-doubles and was third in rebounds. He went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft, but he later signed with the Houston Rockets, making his debut as a pro later that year.

Moving on from Denver
FFree Agent
April 8, 2021
The Nuggets will waive Clark on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
A throw-in to the trade-deadline deal that sent Aaron Gordon to Denver, Clark never gained traction in head coach Michael Malone's rotation during his brief time with the Nuggets. He appeared in only two games following his acquisition March 25, playing four minutes in total. According to Wojnarowski, Clark is expected to draw interest from playoff-contending teams in the Eastern Conference once he clears waiver, but it's difficult to envision him earning a sizable enough role to gain fantasy relevance outside of the deepest of leagues.

2019

Clark spent time with both the Rockets and Magic in 2019, appearing in 42 total contests. Clark began the year in Houston, where he saw action in 18 games, averaging 3.9 points and 2.2 rebounds in 11.7 minutes per contest. In a Nov. 27 win over Miami, Clark had 12 points and eight rebounds in 29 minutes. On Jan. 7, Clark was waived by the Rockets. He subsequently signed a 10-day contract with the Magic, later signing with the team for the remainder of the 2019-20 season. Clark made his debut for Orlando on Jan. 15 against the Lakers, when he finished with 10 points and four rebounds. In 12 games before the All-Star break, Clark averaged 3.1 points and 3.0 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game. On Mar. 2 against Portland, Clark made his first start of the season, playing 29 minutes and finishing with five points, three rebounds, and one assist. In the NBA bubble, Clark started the Magic's final nine games of the season, including all five first-round playoff games against Milwaukee. During that span, Clark posted 7.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.0 block in 28.3 minutes per game. In Orlando's Game 1 win over Milwaukee, Clark converted four three-pointers and finished with 15 points and six rebounds.

2018

Gary Clark began his rookie season with the Rockets on a two-way contract and was ultimately converted to a full-time member of the NBA roster when he signed a three-year deal in December. Despite being undrafted, the Cincinnati product started the season in Houston. He appeared in 36 of the Rockets' first 52 games and scored 2.9 points per game. He then joined the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League for four games. The forward rejoined the Rockets for their Feb. 11 win over Dallas. Clark followed a few DNPs with a breakout 14-point, five-rebound effort Feb. 28. In that game, Clark started for an injured Eric Gordon and helped Houston defeat the Heat. Clark spent March bouncing back and forth between Houston and Rio Grande Valley. Overall, he appeared in 51 NBA games, generating 2.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.8 made three-pointers per contest. He also provided fiesty defense, with per-36-minute averages of 1.1 steals and 1.5 blocks. In the G League, Clark played in seven games, posting 12.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.1 made threes per tilt.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
Clark began his rookie season with the Rockets on a two-way contract but was ultimately converted to a full-time member of the NBA roster when he signed a three-year deal in December. Clark ended up making a pair of starts and appearing in 52 games overall for Houston last year, averaging 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds across 12.6 minutes per game. Entering his second NBA season, Clark could be in line for a somewhat larger role depending on how Houston's final roster ends up looking by the start of the regular season. While P.J. Tucker is expected to again dominate the minutes player at power forward, Clark could wind up being his backup to start the regular season. One thing that really hurts Clark's chances to see additional minutes, however, is how ineffective he was from behind the arc last season, shooting just 29.7 percent from deep on 2.7 attempts per game, which is far from ideal in the team's spaced out offensive attack.
